Texts:  Psalm 77; 1 Samuel 3:1-10

  1. In Revelation 8:1 we read that there was “silence in heaven for about half an hour.” What might be going on in heaven’s silence?

  2. How do you avoid or resist silence?

  3. How much time each day do you give to silence (i.e., no words, printed or audible)?

  4. Do you think God values time with you in silence? Why or why not?

  5. Conversation with others sometimes begins to become a competition of besting the previous person’s story, anecdote, or testimony. This week, practice not interrupting or telling your own story to people in your Oikos. Listen. Ask questions to learn more about them. Return to this later in the week: What did you learn about someone that you never knew before because you listened?
