3 Phases of Persecution

Phase 1 - Disinformation
Phase 2 - Discrimination
Phase 3 – Violent Persecution

*4 Things to Reflect Upon In Light of 1 Peter 4:12-19:

  1. Have you ever experienced disinformation or discrimination as related to your faith? How did you respond? Was there anything you could have done differently?
  2. Pray that your attitude in suffering will not be surprise or resentment but trust in God and forgiveness toward others. If you are being mistreated for the name of Christ, ask God to help you see it as a blessing and give you profound joy that you are sharing the sufferings of the Messiah.
  3. Ask the Spirit of God how you can pray, defend, advocate, and prepare the church of Christ for the future.
  4. Memorize Matthew 5:9-11 this week. Read it daily. Let it tumble through your mind.

Series Information

In light of the shifting shadows of thought within our culture, it is the longing of many to find something to cling to that does not move.  Jesus is that steadfast rock that we can stand on historically, now, and for the ages to come.  These two epistles are Peter’s final charge to the church to give strength and confidence that is rooted in the life changing work of Jesus Christ.
