WHO WE ARE and WHAT WE BELIEVE
At LEFC, we just really love Jesus. And we love people! We want everyone to experience the fullness of a life transformed by Him! Keep reading to learn more about how our love for Jesus impacts the way we live and how we operate as a church body.
Our Mission
Simply stated, the mission of LEFC is to make disciples of Jesus Christ.
We do this by sharing Christ in our relational worlds (our Oikos!) and pouring into the lives of others. We seek to be people who love God, love people, live truth, and proclaim Jesus.
What is Oikos?
Oikos is a Greek word that at its simplest level means "household." But scripture defines Oikos as more than just the people who sleep under your roof at night. Our Oikos is our relational world, the group of people that God has strategically placed in our lives, that we may proclaim Jesus to those who don't know Him and make disciples of those who do.

Statement of Faith
LEFC is affiliated with the Evangelical Free Church of America (EFCA). We share with them our Statement of Faith, which outlines the theological framework of what we believe. Every one of these items is considered a "major" by church leadership in our denomination. One of the distinctions of the EFCA is that we work to "major on the majors and minor on the minors." This does not mean that theological issues are unimportant, but rather that we will not divide over the "minors."
Agreement with the points in our Statement of Faith is required to become a member of LEFC or to serve in a discipling role within our body. Click the button below to read our entire Statement of Faith.
Guiding Principles
As we seek to make disciples of Jesus Christ in our Oikos, our prayer is for LEFC to be characterized by the following guiding principles.
We are a church who is:
1) Led by the Holy Spirit and the Word, prayerfully discerning God's leading in all things.
2) Committed to preaching and teaching from Scripture to equip the body.
3) Desiring for all to engage and participate in heartfelt worship.
4) Approaching God and our interactions with all people in humility.
5) Engaged in small to medium gatherings, make a large church feel like family.
6) Pursuing relational depth within our sphere of influence intent on discipleship and spiritual growth of all ages.
7) Empowering lay leadership to invest in ministry alongside staff with mutual trust.
8) Seeking unity and freedom by setting aside minor positions to maintain the bond of peace.
9) Generous in the stewardship of our time, our resources, and our gifts to serve.
10) Multiplying the Kingdom of God locally and globally by sharing the hope of the gospel.
