Hi. My name is Simon Green. I am 11 years old. I am growing up in a Christian household and we go to church every Sunday that we can. When I was younger, my mom would read the Bible to me every night that she could.

The day that I accepted Jesus started out like any other Thursday. I don’t remember much about the day, except for the day ending with an after-school Bible program. We were playing games like we usually did, but as we were about to move into Bible time, they asked the question that they always asked about “would you like to be saved?” This time I said “yes,” because for the past week I had been waiting for the right time to accept Jesus. After I said “yes,” the leader took me to the other side of the room and prayed for me and then gave me some time to accept Jesus on my own. After that, I joined the other kids for Bible time and I went about my day somewhat normally. I think the reason I was trying to accept Jesus, was because I had learned a lot about God and how loving and kind he is. After school I went home and told my mom about it. After that day I feel I have grown closer to God and know more about him. I also think that life has changed for the better.

One example of this is that I used to be scared of the dark, so my mom posted Bible verses up on my wall so that whenever I would get scared, I could turn a flashlight on and read the verses until I felt comfortable and safe enough to go back to sleep. My favorite Bible verse that she posted was Psalm 91:5, which says “You shall not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day.” This verse comforts me because it shows me that God is stronger than anyone who stands against me.

Because of this, I want to share God with everyone. One example of how I can share God in my school is through my class projects. Recently, we had an assignment to share about our favorite thing. I chose God. I studied about how He sustains his rule over all and then put it into a slideshow and shared it with my class. I shared how no one is out of his control.

I want to get baptized today so that everyone can know that I love God and that He is my heavenly Father.
