LEAH RANCK

Hi! My name is Leah, and I am 13 years old. I go to LCCS, and I have gone to LEFC my whole life.
I’m so thankful I went here for church, and I accepted Jesus when I was 6 years old. I remember sitting in my room and talking through the gospel with my mom - I knew I had sinned a lot and often felt bad about it. We talked about how God forgives us.
I accepted Jesus that afternoon, but even after that, church was more of a "Sunday thing." I knew about the stories, but it did not really have much meaning during the rest of the week.
One big turning point in my relationship with God was at Winter Blast. We talked about making Jesus the King of your life. I realized that I was trying to do everything by myself. I regularly thought that if I tried hard enough, I could do it, instead of giving God control of my heart.
The thing is, God always forgives, no matter what we have done, and he sent his only Son to die on the cross to pay the debt of our sin. I am saved only because of Jesus. I now rely on Him more and want to grow and be more like Him.
My favorite chapter of the Bible is Psalm 46. In verse 5 it says, “God is within her, she will not fall.” This reminds me that God is always with me and strengthening me. Everything that I said today is not about anything I did—it’s about what God is doing.
So I want to be baptized to share that Jesus is my Savior and King!
