WHAT I LOVE ABOUT MY JOB

I genuinely love what I do. I get to lead people, love people, preach, teach, lead finances and large projects, speak into technical issues at a high level, study theology and talk theology, and make things happen through my team.

Do you have a secret skill or talent that most people don’t know about you?

I play the piano, trombone and tuba.

If you could instantly master one skill, what would it be?

I do not yet know kung fu.

What was the first job you ever had?

I mowed lawns for neighbors. My first paycheck was from a Christian Bookstore.

Name a place you'd like to visit someday.

I'd like to see the Monaco Grand Prix and the 24 Hours of Lemans in person. I also want to see the Baobab trees of Madagascar in person.

Name a fictional character that you find fascinating.

Aragorn son of Arathorn, called Elessar, the Elfstone, Dúnadan, the heir of Isildur, Elendil's son of Gondor.

If you could live in any fictional universe/location, what would it be?

Middle Earth before the rise of Sauron

Name a random contest or award that you won as a child.

Second in a sailing race, got outsmarted by the winner who had a better strategy to deal with the wind conditions. Strategy beats speed.

If you could meet any historical figure, who would it be?

Thomas Jefferson

What do you enjoy doing on your days off?

Driving the convertible on a beautiful day with my wife at my side. Having a cappuccino at Passenger Coffee in Lancaster (the best cappuccino in the country, I've checked). Sitting on my back deck with friends.

Name a piece of art (fine art, music, book, theater, movie, etc.) that has inspired you.

Mozart's Symphony Number 40, Three Quartets by Chick Corea, That Hideous Strength by CS Lewis.

Describe one of your greatest experiences with God.

Standing on top of Mount Bierstadt in Colorado singing How Great Thou Art. Some moments on my days of prayer have been truly incredible, and I have been moved to tears by worship at LEFC on a Sunday morning.

Give us a fun fact about yourself that hasn't been mentioned yet.

For a year of my life, I wore nothing but shorts. No cowboy boots (or shoes), no jeans, no shirt, just shorts.
