WHAT I LOVE ABOUT MY JOB
Serving at LEFC is a privilege and one of my greatest joys. I love pointing people to Jesus and the Word as they know God more fully, equipping leaders to walk in their God-given gifts and talents, and watching the bride of Christ love one another well. Nothing brings me more joy than seeing people understand the Gospel more fully — and I am deeply grateful to serve on teams with the incredible people God has called to this place.
GET TO KNOW ME QUESTIONS
As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
A teacher
If you could instantly master one skill, what would it be?
An ability to discern the best way to communicate in any given situation.
What was the first job you ever had?
Babysitting for neighbors and teaching my high school best friend how to cook (True story! I was paid to teach someone to cook.) I did lots of jobs for her family, but that one was especially fun.
Name a place you'd like to visit someday.
Banff, Canada, or back to Finland with our kids now that they're old enough to actually remember it.
Name a random contest or award that you won as a child.
The Presidential Award for an aquifer study we did in middle school.
What is the most unusual food you have ever eaten?
Ant egg tacos in Mexico. That's where I learned to never ask what you are about to eat, what you're currently eating, or what you've just eaten.
What do you enjoy doing on your days off?
Being with family and friends, getting outside, traveling.
Describe one of your greatest experiences with God.
There are so many! A lot of them have happened when I've been traveling, out of my comfort zone and usual distractions, and usually out in nature. A more recent one was during my Sabbatical a couple of years ago at a waterfall at Jenny Lake in the Tetons. Standing beside Hidden Falls during snow melt season reminded me how great and powerful God is, and how small we are. I'm so thankful He's bigger and greater than I am!
