Two year old class:
- Two’s will stay in their room all morning unless they go outside to play at the playground equipment. Their location will be posted on the door. A new exciting curriculum, called First Look (http://www.whatisorange.org/firstlook/), launches September 11, 2011.
The kiddoes in the 3 year old through 2nd grade classes, as well as the teams, will experience the morning in a whole new way as they rotate classrooms. This model fully utilizes our volunteers in
the areas of their gifts and personalities and allows the kids to fully engage as they participate in the activities or lesson times in each of the rooms. Read on to get the details:
Preschool: 3’s, 4’s , and 5’s
- All kids will go to their respective age-group class for the first 10 minutes of the morning where the biblical concept of the week will be introduced. From there, the class will collectively move to different rooms where they will spend 20 minutes either participating in craft, activity/worship, or lesson time rotating to another room after 20 minutes.
- Each room will have activities or a lesson which reinforce the biblical concept of the week and the monthly spiritual theme.
- Each age-group will have one or two coaches who stay with them all morning, keeping them safe in the halls, assisting the various activities, and intentionally building relationships with each child.
- The kids will end the morning back in their original classroom for prayer time and snack.
- Parent drop off and pick up will be at the same location.
- This model will be utilized both first and second service, reinforcing the weekly biblical concept with a variety of interactive tools.
